Oregon Avenue and Oregon Expressway are named for the western state. When the expressway ws created in 1961, 123 homese on the sourt side of Oregon Avenue were removed. The mature street trees were saved in the city nursery for replanting along the completed exressway. George Hood made this suggestion and is honored by having George Hood Lane named for him.
