The following is from the Historic Buildings Inventory as revised in 1985:
1029 Ramona Street offer an excellent example of the difference that paint color can make to the visual appearance of a building. The two houses are, in fact, identical in form, plan and material. the restrained Colonial Revival design features generous front porches supported by Tuscan columns. The most interesting design item is the abstract fenestration pattern on the second floor. together, they are typical of small–scale development at the turn of the century and are parts of a coherent block face, as well.
The structures at 1021 andFirst occupied by Mrs. E. Melcer and her daughter, from 1911 to 1952 it was the home of Franklin P. and Lola F. Steinmetz. They moved to Palo Alto from Carson City, where Mr. Steinmetz had been a pharmacist for twenty–five years. Here he operated the University Pharmacy in downtown Palo Alto.
Subsequent owners included Professor and Mrs. Lincoln E. Moser, of Stanford, the Sam H. N. Tharp family, and Stratton Wynkoop of Stanford Research Institute. Jerome and Sandra Peters purchased the home in the mid–seventies.

2010 Holiday House tour | Location map |
This house was built in 1905 and is a Category 4 on the Historic Buildings Inventory. The architect and builder are unknown. It was on the 1988 (first tour) and 2010 Holiday House Tours. The property measures 50 by 105 feet.
