The first owner of 1650 Waverley has been identified as Mrs. H.P. Miller.

The city directories for 1927 and 1928 list Herman P. Miller Jr., an electrical engineer, and his wife, Nancy L, as the residents. They were listed in the 1924 and 1925 directories as living at 731 Lincoln Avenue. In 1949, the occupant was C. L. Miller.

In 1954, the author Kathleen Norris lived here. A local paper noted that she lived here for ten years after selling her well-known home at 1247 Cowper Street.

This section of the 1924 Sanborn map of Palo Alto shows Block 130. There was a well on the backside of this block, on Bryant, and you can see “cistern” listed.
