Alexander Peers, who came to this area in 1865, was an early owner of this house. Peers Park, located at 1899 Park Boulevard, was named for him.

The front of this house which appears to be a later addition, faces the front of 2310 Yale because originally Cambridge Avenue, which starts at Park Bouldvard, continued from Yale to the top of College Terrace at Amherst Street.

This house was deemed potentially eligible for the California Register of Historical Resources in 1998 by Dames and Moore.
