PAST Photos taken Spring, 2012:
The house was enlarged from 1100 square feet in 1993, but the original features of the house are still visible.
Note: The owner met with Palo Alto City Historian Steve Saiger several years ago who confirmed there wasn't a City record confirming when the house was built. The only record he could find was the date a mud room was added. When we moved into 401 Tennyson in 1972, a very elderly man came to our door and wanted us to know a few things about our unique house. He said when he was very young, our home stood alone in a huge field where he liked to play with his friends. His father even had a photo of it then. He confirmed that the house was already built in 1904. So we believe the oral history of the elderly man. He was sorry he couldn't find the photo. The City Parcel report gives the Santa clara county effective build date as 1907, but these dates are not always accurate because the original documents are not available.
