The Children's Library was renovated in 2007 with PAST serving as a watch dog to make sure the work was done according to the approved designs. This was critical because of the historic nature of this unique building and its importance in the community.
Before: Members of the PAST Board toured the Children's Library to see the original fixtures and layout and learn what the proposed changes were. The windows were of concern as was the treatment of the chimney after expansion of the building.
After: The grand opening followed a parade of children, parents, and library staff bringing books from the temporary space at the Main Library to the newly restored Children's Library. Mayor Larry Kline cut the ribbon with child–friendly scissors!
