This house is very similar to two other Queen Anne’s on Stanford Avenue. The current owners estimate of construction as 1905 seems valid. The house was originally closer to the Mayfield depot and was moved to this lot around 1930. The original owners were named Boyd, and it was later owned by Clarence Hamm.

In 1916 the current owners were given a 1905 plaque for their house. Because College Avenue was not part of Palo Alto until Mayfield was annexed in 1925, records for homes in Mayfield and College Terrace are not available and these homes are not all acknowledged as centennial houses.

It was deemed potentially eligible for the California Register of Historic Resources.
