649 Alvarado

The house was built for George Thomas Clark and his wife Annie Douglas Clark. Clark served as University
Librarian at Stanford and guided the design of the Main Library that opened in 1919.

It was later owned by mathematics professor William Albert Manning.

Geophysics professor Amos Nur is the current owner (2016).

No architect or builder is known.
